Striders are not mechanical units like Rollermines and turrets, they're synths: this means that they're modified organic beings weaponized for war by the Combine. #1. The best thing is to kill the hunters by ramming them with the car. Failing that, use the AR2 secondary fire. The striders themselves don't usually pay too much attention to you since they just make a beeline for the silo. Once you've taken care of the hunters, taking out the striders is fairly easy. Some triggers in the play area trigger the striders to do various sequences; one is for them to follow the path. I assume either the last strider is supposed to be invulnerable until the wall is blown up, or the striders are supposed to keep spawning. This might have been broken after some update like many other things in Half-Life 2.I am at follow freeman, during the strider battle and in the first minute everyone dies, i have no ammo and they instkill me. i need help with this thing, it is way to hard! < 1 2 >.
